    YOGA CLASS INFORMATION & POLICIES

We teach to your level as we want our classes to be accessible for everyone.  

Please pre-register!  We need a minimum of two participants to teach class. 
We ask you pre-register for all classes, no later than 2 hours prior to class.

Semi-private Ashtanga Yoga Classes

Ashtanga Yoga taught traditionally. Open to beginners who wish to build a self practice in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Learn at your own pace

  • One breath at a time

  • In a therapeutic manner.

With a personal commitment of 1 week or more. You shall have your own self practice routine to take away with you.

Monday – Wednesday – Friday at 4:00pm

1 week - $40

2 weeks - $70

1 month - $100

Meet OUR instructors

Michelle Miller

Michelle became a serious yoga student in the year 2000 mostly practicing Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga. She began to feel the calming and healing effects of the practice seeping into her everyday life.  This inspired her to share relavant stretches with her massage clients helping them to create a self maintenance program at home.  In 2004 she taught her first class, a “Stretch Everything Class” at the Kodiak Community College, with the focus on breath and movement to inspire healthy daily habits.  In 2005 Michelle continued her regular yoga practice in Santa Catalina, often practicing or guiding with friends. This eventually led to the construction of the “Bird’s Eye View” Yoga Studio and to furthering her study of yoga. In 2010 she attended a 200 hour yoga teacher training program at the Nosara Yoga Institute in Nosara, Costa Rica. Their interdisciplinary yoga program transformed her gentle Hatha style of teaching into a more eclectic flow.  Her classes here at La Buena Vida can be described as “Slow Flow” Vinyasa.  Just as yoga aids in flexibility it also teaches us to be more flexible in our lives and depending on who turns up for class, their experience level or yoga preference, Michelle's classes tend to range from beginner to intermediate and from relaxed, to warmer/faster. "I definitely like to breathe, hold fundamental postures and play with new challenges. Hopefully see you in class one day".

ELENA "LANY" FAIRALL

Elena graduated from the University of Oregon in 2008 with a degree in International Business.  She began using her expertise shortly after, becoming a professional World Traveler.  Elena exudes her love for life, learning about other cultures and sense of adventure.  She recently graduated from the Sampoorna Yoga School in Goa, India.  As an aspiring new instructor she will be offering two Vinyasa / Ashtanga based yoga classes per week on a donation base (or packages are welcome).  Monday at 5:00 p.m. is "Vinyasa Light", a more gentle practice, and every Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m. Vinyasa Flow.   Please come support her in this new endeavour as she puts her great energy into a thoughtful class.

Dedicated student of yoga. Passionate about oriental philosophies such as Taoism, Buddhism, Zen, and Tantra, he began his path into yoga in 2012 with the practice of sitting meditation, and then later experimented with different forms of postural practices, until encountering Ashtanga Yoga. Since 2015 he has continued his studies under the guidance of international teachers such as Mariela Cruz (Costa Rica), Krista Shirley (USA), Day Christensen (USA), Michel Guiou (USA), and Kristina Karitinou (Greece). In 2016, Pescod practiced under the guidance of Sharath Jois in Mysore, India, and in 2018 with Prem and Radha Carlisi at the Ashtanga Yoga Bali Research Center.

Reina Hernandez

Reina began her journey into yoga in 2006. Since then, she has trained in the Anusara, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Raja, Hatha-Kriya and Ghatastha disciplines of yoga, as well as Thai Massage. She teaches an accessible blend of Hatha yoga practices suitable for all levels of experience.

RELAXING NECK & SHOULDER MASSAGE

Relaxing Swedish massage focusing on the neck, shoulders and lower back.

DEEP TISSUE THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE  

Personalized deep tissue treatment integrating myofascial techniques, trigger point release with passive stretching to relax tense muscles and ease discomfort (chronic or acute).

ASHIATSU MASSAGE  

East meets West on the massage table with this mixture of deep tissue massage and Ashiatsu (Japanese foot pressure), walking on your back with the use of bars overhead.  Specific strokes are applied to create structural change in chronic soft tissue damage and provide deep relaxation.

Michelle Miller

Michelle Miller was Nationally Certified in Massage and Hydrotherapy having graduating from the highly accredited Florida School of Massage in the year 2000.  There she studied Swedish massage, reflexology, deep/connective tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, and Shiatsu.  Later, she furthered her training in Thai, pregnancy massage and Ashiatsu treatments (where she walks on you!).  She mixes all of the above to create a healing massage that is right for your specific needs.
